A Hands on Learning Experience for School Aged Kids
Bees are one of the most integral part of our natural ecosystem, accounting for 70% of our world’s crop pollination. That’s why we are so passionate about teaching our kids just how much we need to protect and nurture our little buzzing friends.
Our school workshop experience not only explains the depth of impact bees have on our world, we also help your students take an interest in bees and beekeeping, preparing and extraction of honey frames, and custom label making.
Session includes:
• Talk on beekeeping, equipment and honey extraction process. For older aged groups additional topics such a bee diseases & saving the bees.
Children are then split into 2 groups
• Group 1: Hands on experience preparing and extraction honey frames. We use a clear extractor so the whole process can be observed
• Group 2: Label making. Children design their own label for their honey bottle.
Groups then swap activities
• Observation frame containing live working bees (Fully secure)
• Interact with Equipment and hives
• Children will get to take home a sample of Raw Honey that they helped extract
1x Session = avg. 1.5 hrs
Minimum $480 per session or $8 per child
